The Palicomp Alpha Detonator is the latest PC on our site, and its also got a heap of new features including the latest Ivybridge i5 3570K CPU. The latest Z77 chipset from Gigabyte, the Z77X-D3H is a great all round board and very good for overclocking. We’ve also use the brand new Coolermaster Dominator CM690 AdvII USB3 case, which wouldnt look out of place in the home, office or gaming enviroment. We’ve put in a massive amount of memory – 16GB of Corsair branded RAM, along with an OCZ 120GB SSD and a 2TB hard drive this means you will wont run out of space for a long time to come. The rest of the spec is very impressive, we wanted to showcase graphics as this PC isnt cheap at £1299.99 but we managed to include the current fastest cards on the market. You can choose from either the AMD 7970 3GB or the nVIDIA GTX680 2GB. Both cards perform very simular and are so high end that the manufacures are having issues making enough cards to keep up with demand.

We sent this system into the computer magazines early, and were the first to send an Ivy Bridge CPU based PC into Expert Reviews/Computer Shopper. They awarded the system the maximum 5 stars. Their only negative comment really was theres too much power! Which we see as a major positive. Obviously customers who havent got the budget, can get really good for less money. But for those who are looking for cutting edge performance this is a very good starting point.

They loved the fact this is a gamers PC really, as most home users wouldnt want to invest so highly in the graphics, but the graphics are the best seen on a single GPU card. If you want this system with a less expensive card then contact us directly.

The Palicomp Hyper Phase, is the latest in a long line of award winning PCs from Palicomp and finally AMD has starting making some dents in the Intel market. AMDs time has now arrived with the LLano range, as these now have very powerful intergrated graphics into the chip, far advanced to the Intel Sandybridge range and ComputerActive recently agreed.It was featured in the Middle Febuary onsale edition amongst some strong brands, and stood out as being a very good all round system, and at just £599 it hits the perfect price point for performance. The Palicomp Phoenix i5 Destiny, arguably the best value for money Intel Sandybridge i5 machine on the market, has scooped another award from the technology press. After attaining A-list and Recommended status from PC Pro, the Destiny has been picked as the Best Buy budget PC by electronics blog Tech Guru.

Including the computer in a round-up of the best technology deals on the market, Shubham Gupta praised the price for which Palicomp have been able to make the Destiny available and commented that at £699 the machine was a great deal. Continue Reading →

The Palicomp Hyper Flame, developed as an all-round home entertainment system, scored a perfect 5/5 and bagged the coveted Best Buy award when reviewed by Barry de la Rosa for Computer Shopper / Expert Reviews in December 2011.

The review of the system, based around the AMD A8-3850 APU (Accelerated Processing Unit – combining a CPU and Radeon GPU on a single chip), recognised the Hyper Flame as being an excellent value for money all-rounder that was able to play games and movies courtesy of its respectable graphics handling performance and Blu-ray drive. The Palicomp Phoenix i5 Shinobi has garnered a rave review from Computer Shopper, scoring their maximum rating and drawing numerous plaudits. The Shinobi, an overclocked gaming PC based on the Intel i5 chipset, is Palicomp’s attempt to redefine the boundaries for gaming PCs and consumer expectations of what a £1000 machine should be.

Computer Shopper were effusive with their praise for the Shinobi, praising both its looks and performance, which they described as being “fast enough for anything we can think of doing with a home PC.” The benchmark tests were among the fastest they had ever seen for a Core i5 system, with a score of 141 on their application benchmark. Palicomp Touch Diamond

The Touch Diamond is the first foray for Palicomp into touch screen computing, and seeks to combine the performance of an extreme gaming PC with the ease of use and accessibility of a touch screen. As an innovative product (PC Pro point out that most touchscreen PCs are all-in-one units and do not cater for the performance market) the reviewer mused over the benefits of the added interactivity on Windows 7, but conceded that it would future-proof users for Windows 8 and a more touch-oriented future.

In common with all Palicomp computers, the Touch Diamond was rated as a “fast performer” (it packs an Intel Sandybridge Core i5 2500k overclocked to 4.8GHz, with 16GB of Corsair DDR3 1600MHz RAM). The overall benchmark score of 1.18 was one of the best the magazine had seen from the processor. They were also impressed with the AMD Radeon HD 6970 (overclocked to 950MHz) which delivered “a comprehensive battering to our benchmarks.” Continue Reading →

Palicomp Phoenix i5 Supreme

As an inexpensive but powerful system, it came as no surprise that the Palicomp Phoenix i5 Supreme faired well in a recent review in Computer Shopper (Expert Reviews online). In summing up the machine, reviewer Kat Orphanides called the i5 Supreme a versatile all-rounder that packed the publication’s favourite processor with plenty of RAM.

Although commenting that the exterior looks of the computer were fairly plain, with a relatively unremarkable case and unassuming peripherals, the review remarked that the quality of the internal components, the guts of the machine, was excellent. The Palicomp Phoenix i5 Solar Flare was awarded the gold standard in PC Advisor’s June 2011 edition, securing best buy status. In the words of reviewer Paul Monckton, the Solar Flare “outclasses the competition”, offering “far superior specification and significantly better performance.”

The system, based upon a lightning fast 3.4GHz Intel 2500K, is being multiplier unlocked is ready for overclocking but comes supplied with factory settings.
